Telescopes for Astrophotography

While selecting a telescope for visual observation of deep space objects one of the most important considerations is aperture. While there quality of lenses and/or mirrors is extremely important, the amount of light collected is directly proportional to how faint an object you can view.

Since cameras can collect light over from distant objects over a period of time, prelature becomes less important. When selecting a telescope for astrophotography, optical quality is important since any distortions will be exaggerated when acquiring images.
